MY 1st Birthday

November 14th was a fun day for Miss Alyson Jean.

Ryan and I picked Aly up from daycare right after lunch and headed out to have some fun as a family on her special day. We took her to Toys-R-Us to start to look at some birthday gifts. We left with a Dora phone and some building blocks and knew a trip to Target for a V-Smile was needed.

After that we headed to the Mall of America - We took Alyson to the amusement park and took turns taking her on her first rides. You can tell she was getting used to the rides in the photos. Daddy was the best too and made sure Aly had balloons for her stroller so everyone knew it was her special day...

After the rides we went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. We got a great table near the fish tanks and the gorillas. She loved all the sites and sounds and had a great dinner of dinosaur chicken nuggets and french fries. We even got a picture with the mascot from the restaurant.

But the day was not over - off to Target to get her one last gift and some cupcakes for her and Maddie (And Ry and I) to enjoy on her day. We got home and Dad and Aly played with her new toys and video games.

AND THAN THE BEST PART - The Eating of the Cupcake.

Let's just say the video is even better than the pictures but they are cute too. Aly thought it was interesting for all of us to sing including Maddie. Here is the slide show of all of her picture of the night. Maybe someday I will figure out the video deal

Happy Halloween to all

Well Alyson celebrated her 1st Halloween in true Spooky style. It was a fairly chilly day but we bundled our little fairy princess up and took her to the neighborhood party. She was overwhelmed with all of the kids and the costumes but ran around waving her wand.

We came home and spent the rest of the night handing out treats to over 100 kids in the course of about an hour. I got out the plastic pumpkin and Aly grabbed on so off her and I went to some of the houses close by to trick and treat. She got some very nice treats from the neighbors that were kid friendly - note to self to have goodies for the little kids since the full size candy bars are too much for them. She came home with a bag filled with raisins, animal crackers and goldfish.

Grandma Karolee came over with Uncle Jonathan and his buddy. Grandma brought Aly some goodies for the evening including this adorable pajama outfit. She wore it all over the house with her pumpkin slippers that Lynny gave her.

What fun would the night have been without dressing up puppy - she wore her bunny ears like a good girl.

Getting Ready for my first Halloween

So I had to try out my costume for Halloween so I could make sure I looked cute as a fairy.

So I practiced walking and crawling with my costume and even tried giving out money like the tooth fairy does. Just need to use my wand to turn Maddie into a bunny.

Look for the official photos on Halloween.

Aly Walks

Now with the new functions on blogger - we can update videos - here is Alyson back when she first started walking in May 2007.

Jack and Aly - Dinner date

I had a dinner date with Jack Gleason tonight. Jack's parents, Carrie and John came for dinner with Jason and Becky- she's a mommy-to-be. Jack and I played with my toys and he really liked my musical piano... Hmmm - Christmas list for Jack?

We had lots of fun together. Jack being 6 months is still not walking but he really likes to stand just like I did when I was his age. Oh boy are our parents in for some fun.... Another date? Well that's up to Jack.
